Care
What is Care? Scripture says it involves thinking more highly of others than you do of yourself. It’s an instinct to listen, to respond, to value, and to act. Care transcends convenience.
The ministry of care begins with the predictable: hospital and homebound visitation, comfort for the bereaved, assisting those down on their luck. But it goes beyond that. Offering guidance to those anticipating marriage. Reassurance for the fearful. Rescue when someone’s losing his grip. Building a culture where it is typical — not unusual — to pay attention to others’ needs. And, most important, to feel that way about those who are outside one’s social circle.
As a ministry, we seek people who are compassionate and generous, having a love for friend and stranger alike, showing Christ’s love without preaching or judging. Easy? Probably not. Rewarding? Count on it. Interested? Contact Pastor Chris at chris@cbclodi.org or 367.7940 ext. 15
